The North Douglas boys basketball team is off to a 10-6 start to the year and recently pulled off an upset win over previously undefeated Riddle. Head coach Tyler Vancil was a guest on Off The Wall on Monday, January 21 to talk about the big win and the team’s strong start to the season.

The Warriors are hitting the stretch run of the league season, but sit atop of the standings. Coach Vancil feels his guys are starting to hit their stride, but he’s had a pointed message for the team. “Anybody in this league can beat anybody on any night,” said Vancil. “That’s one thing that we’ve also talked about with the boys, is not to overlook any team. The minute you overlook a team, is the night you’re going to get beat.

Vancil says his team’s depth and the defensive pressure they throw at teams have been some of the strengths so far, but says there’s still a lot they’re working to improve on. Take a listen to the full interview with North Douglas boys basketball coach Tyler Vancil.
