The Umpqua women’s basketball team picked up its first league win on Wednesday and are out to a 12-3 start to the year. Head coach Dave Stricklin was a guest on Off The Wall on Friday, Jan. 11 to talk about the start of the year and the expectations for the RiverHawks.

Coach Stricklin said he feels his team is “only a couple of plays away form being 15-0” on the year and he thinks this team has a strong chance to make the NWAC tournament in a very competitive South Region. The UCC women have been led in scoring by Taylor Stricklin and rebounding by Darian Mitchell and coach Stricklin breaks down what both players bring to the team. Plus he breaks down how his roster of young players has grown since the start of the year.
