ROSEBURG – The Roseburg boys basketball team was without a large portion of its roster Wednesday night and the shorthanded Indians suffered a 64-57 loss to McMinnville. It was the first time this season that Roseburg has lost back-to-back games.

Roseburg (9-3) was missing four players, including two starters, due to injury, suspension, and personal leave and the Indians struggled to find their rhythm in the first half. The Grizzlies built a 15-point lead by halftime, but the Tribe mustered a rally after the break.

Roseburg went on a 9-0 run to start the second half and whittled the lead down to five points before the fourth quarter, but the lack of depth and foul trouble hindered their comeback effort.

Collin Warmouth scored a game-high 26 points to lead Roseburg despite playing with three fouls from the second quarter on. Senior Carson Ellis added 10 points and seven rebounds for the Tribe.

McMinnville (6-5) finished with four players in double figures, led by senior Luke Arzner with 18. Tyler Logsdon added 16 points, Parker Spence had 13, and Kris Renshaw chipped in 10.

The Roseburg boys have nine days off before facing conference foe South Medford in a non-conference game on Jan. 11.
