The Oregon and Oregon State football programs announced their early signing recruiting classes for 2019 on Wednesday, the first day that recruits can officially sign letters of intent locking them into a specific college for the following school year.
The Oregon Ducks were the talk of the Pac-12 on signing day. Mario Cristobal inked 22 players and brought in the fifth-ranked class nationally, a school record for the Ducks. Oregon’s class was headlined by five star defensive lineman Kayvon Thibodeaux from California, one of 12 players in this year’s class from the Golden State. The Ducks also added 11 four star players and 10 three star athletes, according to rankings from 247sports.com.
Oregon’s lone in-state signee was Sheldon High School senior Patrick Herbert, younger brother to quarterback Justin Herbert. Cristobal also pulled athletes from Hawaii, Florida, Washington, Colorado, Alabama, Tennessee, and North Carolina.
The Oregon State Beavers signed 15 players on Wednesday, four of which came from the state of Oregon. OSU signed mostly three star recruits and focused heavily on the defensive side of the ball.
The Beavers have a few more scholarship offers available for players looking to sign during the second signing period in February.
