WINCHESTER – Umpqua Community College sophomore Taylor Stricklin was named the Northwest Athletic Conference women’s basketball player of the week for a second time this year on Wednesday.
Stricklin averaged 23.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.7 steals in three wins last week. The RiverHawks improved to 7-0 on the year with wins against Centralia, Olympic, and Blue Mountain.
Stricklin, a Sutherlin High School graduate, is the NWAC’s second leading scorer with 23.4 points per game. She is also 7th in assists and 13th in steals.
The Umpqua women’s basketball team is back to action with a non-conference game at North Idaho on Sunday.
