ASHLAND – The Roseburg boys basketball team continued its impressive start to the season with its largest victory to date. The Indians dominated wire-to-wire in a 77-53 win over Ashland Tuesday night at Ashland High School. The 77 points were the most points scored by Roseburg so far this year and the 24-point lead was the Indians’ largest margin of victory.

Roseburg (4-0) started the game on a 9-0 run and led by as many as 31 points in the third quarter. Ashland used a very active full-court press in the fourth quarter to cut into Roseburg’s advantage, but never got the lead below double digits.

The Tribe drained nine three-pointers, led by Collin Warmouth with five. The senior guard led the Indians with a game-high 26 points. Storm Scott added 20 points for the Tribe, which was able to play every player on its bench.

Ashland (1-1) was led by senior KJ Pippa with 21 points. No other player reached double figures.

With the win, the Roseburg boys improved to 4-0 to start the year. It’s the first time the Indians have started a season with four straight wins since the 2009-10 season. Roseburg lost its fifth game of the season that year, but went on to start 9-1 and finished the season with a loss in the second round of the playoffs.

Up next, the Roseburg boys will try to reach 5-0 on a trip to Corvallis on Friday. The game will be the season-opener for the Spartans. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. Broadcast coverage starts at 6:45 p.m. on CBS Sports Radio 1490 The Score or watch online at 541radio.com.
