CORVALLIS – The Oregon State and Oregon women just keep rolling early on in the 2018-19 college basketball season.

The No. 8 Oregon State women flew by Arkansas-Pine Bluff for an 89-33 victory in Corvallis Wednesday morning.

The Beavers got double-doubles from Mikayla Pivec and Destiny Slocum to lead the way. Pivec finished with a team-high 14 rebounds and 12 points. Slocum scored 15 points and dished out 11 assists. Kat Tudor made four three-pointers for a game-high 18 points.

Oregon State’s defense shutdown the Lions. OSU led 26-4 after the first quarter and only allowed 10 points to Arkansas-Pine Bluff in the first half. Sha’Kendra Tillry led the Lions with seven points.

The Beavers will continue their season on Saturday against Saint Mary’s from California.

The No. 3 Oregon women blew past Utah State in an 88-58 nonconference victory Wednesday night in Logan, Utah.

Oregon built a 30-16 lead after the first quarter thanks to 9-of-12 shooting from the floor. The Ducks hit five three-pointers in the opening period, three from junior Sabrina Ionescu.

The Ducks continued to pull away and outscored Utah State in every quarter of the game. Ruthy Hebard scored a team-high 20 points and Ionescu had 15 points and 10 rebounds for her second double-double of the season.

Oregon is now 3-0 for a fourth consecutive year. The Ducks will host Buffalo on Sunday afternoon.
