NOV. 9 2018 – The American Legion Post 16 in Roseburg, which manages city-owned Legion Field at Bill Gray Stadium, is nearing its fundraising goal to resurface the baseball field with artificial turf. Commissioners Tom Donegan and Jeff Admire were guests on Off The Wall on CBS Sports Radio 1490 The Score and said that the Legion is still seeking donations to reach its fundraising goals, but said they are getting close and hope to begin the project in time for use in February.
The American Legion commission will host a free benefit dinner on December 7 at the Danny Lang Center at Umpqua Community College. Alumni of the American Legion baseball program, UCC baseball, and local community members are invited to attend to celebrate the future of the baseball in Douglas County.
