COOS BAY – The Umpqua RiverHawks volleyball team wrapped-up its season with a four-set loss to Southwestern Oregon in Coos Bay Wednesday night. The RiverHawks were trying to end a four-match losing streak and finish the season on a high-note, but came up short against the Lakers. The set scores were 19-25, 27-25, 20-25, 18-25.
The Lakers finished the year with a 14-22 overall record, while UCC went 12-20 on the year.
Freshman McKenna Wilson led Umpqua with 13 kills and 21 digs. Sophomore Emma Lind added 11 kills and 16 digs for the RiverHawks, while Madison Becker had a team-high 34 assists.
UCC finished sixth in the South Region and missed out on the postseason. The RiverHawks will graduate four sophomores off of this season’s team.
