OCT. 24, 2018 – The volleyball state playoffs begin today for the 6A and 1A classifications.

The Roseburg volleyball team finished tied for second in the Southwest Conference and ranked 19th in the OSAA power rankings. The Tribe qualified for the 32-team playoff bracket and squares off with No. 14 Tualatin in the first round.

Roseburg hits the road for the playoff match and will be looking to right the ship. The Indians have slumped to finish the season, losing five of their last seven matches. Tualatin ended the year as winners in 10 of its last 12.

Roseburg and Tualatin meet tonight at 6:30 p.m.

At the 1A level, the Umpqua Valley Christian Monarchs and North Douglas Warriors both begin post season play tonight.

North Douglas reached the Skyline League title match, but lost to Days Creek and missed out on receiving a bye through the first round. The Warriors will have home court advantage in the post season, though, and welcome in Rogue Valley Adventist this evening.

Umpqua Valley Christian finished as the third-seed out of the Skyline League and qualified for the playoffs for the first time since 2005. The Monarchs will look to make the most of it as they hit the road to face Alsea, the second place out of the Mountain West League.

Both North Douglas and UVC will tipoff tonight at 6 p.m.

1A Playoffs:
