ROSEBURG – The Roseburg cross country teams will host the Southwest Conference district meet at Stewart Park Wednesday. Grants Pass, Sheldon, South Eugene, and North and South Medford will send their squads to the Umpqua Basin to compete in the boys and girls 5,000 meter varsity and junior varsity races.
The schools will be hoping to finish top three in the team standings to qualify for state and the runners will be shooting for a top seven finish to earn an individual invitation to the state meet. The state championship meet will be held November 3 at Lane Community College.
As the host team, Roseburg will hope to make the most of its home course advantage. The meet starts with the girls varsity race at 2 p.m. and the boys varsity at 2:45 p.m. The junior varsity meets follow.
