OCT. 16, 2018 – The regular season is coming to an end over the next week for many high school sports teams around the Umpqua Basin.
The Roseburg volleyball and soccer teams begin their final week of the season tonight against South Medford. For the RHS boys soccer team, tonight’s match against the Panthers could put the Indians in playoff contention. Roseburg sits in fourth place behind South Medford in the Southwest Conference standings and only the top three teams receive an automatic berth in the playoffs. A win for the Roseburg boys could propel them to a playoff run. The Indians and Panthers kickoff tonight at 6 p.m. from Finlay field.
The RHS volleyball team will visit South Medford tonight. The Indians are tied for second in the conference standings and face the last place Panthers with a shot at securing a playoff berth. The regular season comes to an end tonight for the South Umpqua volleyball team. The Lancers visit Douglas for the Trojans’ senior night. South Umpqua is chasing a Far West League title, but will need a win and a loss by Cascade Christian to earn the championship outright. Douglas meanwhile, is aiming for a win to boost its chances at reaching the playoffs with an at-large berth. The Lancers and Trojans tipoff tonight at 6:30 p.m. from Winston.
