The post season remains uncertain for the Roseburg volleyball team after a three-set loss to North Medford on the road Thursday.

The RHS girls struggled out of the gate with a 25-9 loss and never truly recovered. Chay Swenson led the offense with 11 kills, while Karey Lomica paced the defense with 21 digs.

The loss is Roseburg’s second straight and keeps the Tribe from clinching a postseason berth. With two league matches left to play, the Indians will likely need to win at least one match to earn an automatic berth in the 21-team playoff.

Prior to wrapping-up league play next week, the Roseburg girls will take part in a West Linn tournament on Saturday.

The South Umpqua volleyball team has clinched a playoff berth out of the Far West League and remains in a tie for first after sweeping the Sutherlin Bulldogs on senior night. The Lancers still have one league match left to play against Douglas and could win the Far West League title with a win against the Trojans and a loss for Cascade Christian.

The regular season wraps-up on Tuesday for the Lancers.
