Roseburg High School graduate and state champion wrestler Austin Harris will be hitting the mats in Fortaleza, Brazil for the Junior Pan-American Championships starting Friday morning. Harris, now a redshirt freshman for Oklahoma State wrestling, will compete in the Greco-Roman and freestyle competitions.

Harris heads to the international competition looking to back up his Greco title from the United World Wrestling Junior tournament in April and his eighth-place freestyle finish at the 2017 Junior Nationals to claim All-America status.

Harris was a state champion at 184 pounds for Roseburg High School during his senior year. During his redshirt season with Oklahoma State last winter, Harris competed at 174 and 184 pounds and wrestled exclusively in open tournaments, where he had a 13-8 record.

Action for Harris begins with Greco competition on Friday at 8 a.m. and concludes with freestyle matches on Sunday. Fans can follow Harris from the tournament on trackwrestling.com or stay up to date with @USAWrestling on Twitter.
