ROSEBURG – As the high school sports season gets underway, the Roseburg High School athletic department is making a concerted effort to focus on more than just the fundamentals of sports. RHS coaches and athletic director Russ Bolin have come up with the core values initiative to instill the ideas of loyalty, integrity, and relentless effort into Roseburg’s student-athletes.
Bolin says the message to student-athletes will be to get better everyday and to show they are one through loyalty, integrity, and relentless effort. Coaches will spend a few minutes every day to specifically address the principles behind these core values and how they can be integrated not only into sports, but also into the daily lives of the high school students.
Fall sports teams started official practices on Monday and will begin official contests as early as August 23.
