A four-run sixth inning snapped a 1-1 tie game and the Mid-Valley SouthPaws jumped ahead of the Salem Withnell Dodgers. The SouthPaws held off the Dodgers late for a 5-2 victory in the first round of the 2018 AAA American Legion baseball state tournament. Mid-Valley advances to face Medford on Sunday, while Salem falls into an elimination game against Beaverton.
