ROSEBURG – Football season is fast approaching and there is a youth football camp coming up Thursday, July 19 at Joseph Lane Middle School in Roseburg. The Larry Cookus Memorial Football Camp is a free camp focused on fundamentals for young players from grade school through eighth grade.

The camp is open to youth from all over the county. The event will be led by the Roseburg High School coaching staff and other coaches from around the region. Jake Cookus, a former RHS and Oregon State standout and the son of Larry Cookus, will be on hand for the camp. Jake Cookus is also a current coach on the Oregon State football staff.

The camp runs from 6-7:30 p.m. There will be no pads. Athletes just need to bring cleats and water. A waiver will need to be signed as well.
