GRANTS PASS – The Roseburg Renegades 16U baseball team swept a road doubleheader at Grants Pass on Monday. The Renegades improved to 20-6 on the year with a 12-11 win in game one and an 11-3 victory in the nightcap.

Roseburg and Grants Pass went to extra innings in game one. The Renegades scored two runs in the seventh inning to tie the game at 11 and force extras. In the ninth, Roseburg took a lead on a throwing error and held off G.P. for the win.

Caden Smith allowed one hit over two shutout innings to close out the game for Roseburg and earn the win.

The Renegades took a 4-1 lead in the second inning of game two and cruised to the 11-3 win. Nathan Wayman got credit for the five-inning victory. He gave up three earned runs on seven hits, while walking three and striking out five. The game was ended early because another game was scheduled for the field.

Up next for the Renegades is a doubleheader at South Medford on Wednesday.
