POCATELLO, ID – A number of local wrestlers competed at the Western States Championship in Pocatello, ID over the weekend and a few came away as freestyle champions.
In the Cadet brackets, Roseburg wrestlers Kahleb Diaz and Tyler Estes both won titles. Diaz took home first place in the 126-pound weight class. He went undefeated in his four matches and won each by technical fall. Estes, a freshman at Roseburg High last school year, won the 195-pound weight class. He defeated three opponents by fall and won another match by technical fall.
Gage Singleton was a champion at the Schoolboy level. He earned a title with three falls and one injury forfeit.
The wrestling continues in Pocatello with the Greco-Roman competitions starting Tuesday.

Cadets: Nash Singleton (113lbs) 2nd, Tristin David (145lbs) 5th, Darian Thacker (152lbs) 4th, Colin Rietmann (160lbs) 4th, and Gage Hill (170lbs) 3rd.
Schoolboy: Garrett Gallego (106lbs) 3rd, Colton Mignola (120lbs) 6th, and Rhett Martin (125lbs) 4th.
Intermediate: Carter Dawson (63lbs) 6th
