SPRINGFIELD – The Roseburg Renegades started their summer baseball season on a four-game winning streak over the weekend to reach the championship game of the Thurston Tournament in Springfield, but fell to Summit 10-0 on Sunday to finish as the runner-up.

The Renegades had edged Summit 3-2 in an earlier tournament game on Saturday, but came out flat in their second game on Sunday and ended early in just six innings.

Roseburg won big in its three other victories from the tournament. The Renegades started Friday with a 14-0 win over Marist, then beat Crook County 18-3 on Saturday. Roseburg followed that with the one-run win over Summit and reached the title game with a 10-3 win over Bend on Sunday morning.

Up next, the Renegades will host the Sheldon Irish for a doubleheader on Tuesday at Legion Field.
