EUGENE – Roseburg’s Cody Johnson allowed just two hits over five innings and the Dr. Stewart’s offense put up a 10-spot in the third inning to roll to an 11-0 win over Siskiyous Post 122 in the Grant Smith Wood Bat Tournament in Eugene Friday.

The Doc’s sent 14 hitters to the plate in the third against Siskiyous starter Ian Allen. Eight batters collected hits in the frame, along with a walk, an error, and a hit batter. Zach Holland started the scoring with a sacrifice fly. Caden Johnson capped off the scoring with a two-run single.

The 10-0 lead was plenty for Johnson, who kept the Siskiyous hitters off balance. He surrendered just the two hits and no runs, while walking one and striking out five. He earned his first win of the year in his first start for the Doc’s.

Roseburg (4-1) added another run in the fourth inning before ending the game after five innings of play due to the Mercy Rule.

Holland, Caden Johnson, Brody Black, Zack Mandera, and Jett Black all had two hits in the game. Holland and Johnson each added two RBI.

The Doc’s are now 1-0 in the tournament and Siskiyous fell to 0-2 in tournament play. Up next, Roseburg will play two tournament games on Saturday. First up is the Vancouver Mavericks at 4:30 p.m. and then the Doc’s will face the host team, the Eugene Challengers at 7 p.m.
