ROSEBURG – The Roseburg Dr. Stewart’s continued their winning ways and picked up an 11-5 victory over the Grants Pass Cavemen at Legion Field on Monday.

The Doc’s took advantage of eight Cavemen errors and scored in every inning to runaway with the win. Meanwhile, Payton Hope shutdown the Cavemen’s offense over the first five innings to get his first pitching victory of the season.

Hope allowed just four hits and two runs. He struck out four and walked three.

The Doc’s scored two runs in the first inning on a fielding error to take the early advantage. They added another two runs on three errors in the second and pulled ahead 6-1 with two more runs in the third on two more errors.

Grants Pass allowed nine unearned runs to the Stewies. Roseburg scored three runs in the fourth and added runs in the fifth and sixth.

Roseburg collected 12 hits total and had four players with multiple hits. Garrett Russell had another big game, going 2-for-4 with two RBI. Zach Holland, Jett Black, and Caden Johnson all collected two hits in the game as well.

The Doc’s have won back-to-back games and will try to make it a winning streak on Wednesday. Grants Pass will come back to Legion Field for another game against the Doc’s.
