UCC’s Stone sets scoring record in 3-0 win over SWOCC
SUTHERLIN — It’s taken just nine games for Mya Stone to make her mark on the Umpqua Community College women’s soccer program.
The freshman from Caldwell, ID scored the opening goal in a 3-0 win against Southwestern Oregon on Saturday at Sutherlin High School and became UCC’s all-time leading goal scorer.
Stone has now kicked-in nine goals this season, which sets a new benchmark for single-season and career goals. She eclipses the mark set by Jayden Vermillion in 2021.

Umpqua (5-3-1, 5-1-1 South Region) took a 1-0 lead against the Lakers on Stone’s goal just 33 seconds into the match. Tierney Clarno (31:18) and Savannah Sanders (71:40) added goals for the Riverhawks.
Goalkeepers Kayden Twichell and Emersyn Gutierrez combined to shutout Southwestern Oregon (0-9, 0-7 South Region).
Up next, the Umpqua women will visit Chemeketa on Wednesday.
