College Volleyball: Riverhawks upset Clark in four sets

WINCHESTER — The Umpqua Riverhawks volleyball team battled to a four-set win against the Clark Penguins Wednesday at Umpqua Community College.

Set scores were 19-25, 25-17, 25-27, 20-25.

Freshman Atyana Crosby had 19 kills to lead Umpqua (5-6, 1-2 South Region) to the win, the first for the Riverhawks in South Region play.

Abigail Heberle led Clackamas (6-7, 2-1) with nine kills. The loss was the first in league play for the Penguins.

Natalie Paranto led the UCC defense with 18 digs. Daynette Pututau had a team-high 20 assists for the ‘Hawks.

Up next, the Riverhawks will host Linn-Benton at 6 p.m. Friday.
