College Soccer: Riverhawks top Portland 2-0

The Umpqua Community College women’s soccer team beat the Portland Panthers 2-0 on Wednesday at Sutherlin High School.

Mya Stone continued her scoring hot streak for the Riverhawks with a first half goal in the 16th minute and Emma Frank scored after the break in the 58th minute to add some insurance.

Stone now has four goals in five games for Umpqua (2-3, 2-1 South Region).

Kayden Twichell and Emersyn Gutierrez combined for the shutout with nine saves in goal. Portland’s goalkeeper Evelyn Hollingsworth made 10 saves on 12 shots.

Coming up next, the UCC women will visit the Klamath Community College Badgers at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
