Legion Baseball: Docs blast Bend Lava Bears 14-0

Sprague

The Roseburg Dr. Stewart’s finished out a stretch of seven consecutive days of baseball with a 14-0 nonleague victory over the Bend Lava Bears Tuesday at Champion Car Wash Field.

The Docs compiled 14 hits, including six doubles, and rolled to their most lopsided win of the season.

Regan Soper had a pair of doubles and finished 3-for-5 with four RBIs to lead the Roseburg offense. Six players had multiple hits in the game.

Tegan Sprague had two doubles in the game, but made his biggest impact on the mound where he threw five no-hit, scoreless innings. The Umpqua Valley Christian product struck out eight and walked three to earn his first win.

Bend (5-4) managed two hits against reliever Logan Shipman, but the Lava Bears never truly threatened to score in the contest.

Roseburg (5-7) will host the Clackamas Cavs at noon Thursday for a nine-inning nonleague matchup at Champion Car Wash Field. Tune in for coverage of the game on The Score 92.3 FM/1490 AM or watch on 1490 The Score’s YouTube channel.
