Prep Track & Field: Roseburg performs strong in three-way meet at Willamette

The Roseburg High School track and field team had a strong showing at a three-way meet with Elmira and Willamette on Wednesday in Eugene.

The Indians beat the Falcons and the Wolverines in both the boys and girls teams scores and had a number of athletes set new personal records in the process of winning events.

The Roseburg boys took first in seven events.

Highlights of the day included a personal best time for David Schmid while winning the 200 (21.96) and RJ Elliott set a new personal best while winning the 400 (54.91).

The Roseburg girls placed first in 10 events.

Kaylee Bain won the triple jump with a personal best leap (29-feet, 9-inches). Molly Heuberger took first in the pole vault with a new personal best mark (8-feet). Suriah Clarno had a new PR while winning the high jump (5-feet). Irelyn Weaver set a new PR and claimed first in the discus (77-feet, 4-inches). And Rylie McLaughlin took first in the 1500 with a PR time (5:16.59).
