Prep Golf: Roseburg girls third, Silvestri wins another tourney
BLUE RIVER — The Roseburg High School girls golf team finished third in a field of 10 teams at the Tokatee Girls Invitational at the Tokatee Golf Club Tuesday afternoon.
Sophomore Lana Silvestri led the way for the Indians, shooting a 2-under par 70 to win the individual title. She was five strokes better than the second place finisher, Chloe Johnston from Salem Academy.
Silvestri was at even par when she made the turn and had birdies on two par-5 holes on the back nine.
Mylie Ray, Roseburg’s fourth-seeded golfer, had the second-best score for the Indians. The junior shot 97 to finish 18th. It was her second-lowest score of the season.
The Roseburg girls will next compete in the Southwest Conference district tournament on Monday at Bandon Crossings.
