Prep Boys Basketball: Scott’s 28 not enough in Roseburg’s 83-60 loss to Sprague

Despite a career-high 28 points from senior Harrison Scott, the Roseburg boys basketball team fell to the Sprague Olympians 83-60 in a nonconference game Wednesday at Robertson Memorial Gymnasium.

Scott had 15 points in the first half and drained four 3-point shots in the game. He was supported by Tristan Frable who added seven points for Roseburg (0-3).

Sprague (1-1) notched its first win behind a big first quarter. The Olympians built a 23-10 advantage over the first eight minutes. Tayshawn Juarez had eight of his team-high 22 points in the opening quarter.

The Olympians had 12 players score. Elijah Schmidt added 16 points and Jaxx Kresner contributed nine.

Roseburg was shorthanded in the matchup. Starter Jaron Leeworthy was out due to an injury that will force the senior to miss the remainder of the season.

Up next, Roseburg will host Newberg at 6:45 p.m. on Friday.
