Local soccer players earn All-State honors
A trio of local soccer players earned All-State honors for their achievements this season.
South Umpqua’s Trace Esterbrook was named a second team All-State selection and sophomore Raymond Alcaraz was a third team selection, announced this week by the OSAA.
The SU boys lost just two games all season and reached the second round of the 3A/2A./1A state playoffs. The Lancers lost to Blanchet Catholic 3-0 to end the season.
Esterbrook and Alcaraz shared the Special District 4 Player of the Year honors, announced last month.
Douglas senior Sinah Pederson was named to the 3A/2A/1A girls All-State second team. The Trojans finished fourth in the league standings and reached the first round of the state playoffs.
