State Playoffs: Schedules announced for local baseball/softball teams

Douglas County has 13 baseball and softball teams that have qualified for the OSAA state playoffs this spring. The postseason begins for many teams on Monday, May 26. Here’s a rundown of local teams that have playoff games coming up.

BASEBALL

MONDAY, May 26

6A — Tigard at ROSEBURG, 4:30 p.m.

3A — Glide at LAKEVIEW, TBD; South Umpqua (BYE), will host Horizon Christian on May 28.

2A/1A — Umpqua Valley Christian (BYE), will host winner of Oakridge/Lost River on May 28; Reedsport (BYE), will host winner of Crosspoint Christ./Regis on May 28.

SOFTBALL

MONDAY, 26

6A — Sandy at ROSEBURG, 12 p.m.

3A — South Umpqua (BYE), will host winner of Rainier/North Valley on May 28; Glide (BYE), will play at Willamina at 4:30 p.m. on May 28; Douglas (BYE), will play at Lakeview on May 28.

2A/1A — Reedsport at OAKLAND, 5 p.m.; Glendale at PERRYDALE, 4:30 p.m.; North Douglas (BYE), will host winner of Lowell/Knappa on May 28.
