UCC’s Fely claims second consecutive NWAC Player of the Year honor

VANCOUVER, WASH. — Umpqua Community College sophomore Brooklyn Fely has been selected as the conference Player of the Year for a second consecutive season, the Northwest Athletic Conference office announced last week.
Fely helped guide the Umpqua women’s basketball team to a 28-3 record and a second-consecutive berth in the final four of the NWAC tournament.
The Orem, Utah native also managed to improve on her award-winning averages from her 2024 season. Fely grew her scoring average to 22.2 points per game, nearly a point more than last year. She also added about half a rebound more per game (13.8) and one more assist per game (3.8). Her shoting percentage went up by nearly six poitns to 59% and her avergage jumped 6.5 points to nearly 31% from behind the 3-point line.
Fely has had an illustrious college career with the Riverhawks. She was selected first team All-NWAC Tournament for a second-straight year after averaging nearly 16 points and 13 rebounds per contest. She was also one of 10 players selected to the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Two-Year College Coaches’ All-America team.
Her time with UCC wraps up as one of the best to suit up for the Riverhawks. Fely finished with 1,333 total points, 827 rebounds, 202 assists, 110 steals and 71 blocks. She’s the all-time leading scorer and rebounder for the Umpqua women.
Fely will be recognized at the NWAC Hall of Fame banquet on June 5 in Arlington, Washington.
