Local track & field athletes compete in Nike Outdoor Nationals in Eugene

A number of local track and field standouts are competing in the Nike Outdoor Nationals at Hayward Field in Eugene this weekend.

Roseburg High School will have multiple athletes at the event. Competing Friday will be Joseph Latham in the boys 400 meter race and Izak Hutchins in the boys javelin throw. Timothy Johnson will compete in the boys 1 mile race on Saturday.

Latham and Johnson will also compete on a Roseburg 4×800 meter relay team with McLane Stedman and Peyton Fisher on Friday. Elleen Miller, Isla Heinrichsen, Nevaeh Hernandez and Grace Bachmeier will run for Roseburg in the girls 4×100 meter relay Friday.

Stedman, Latham, Fisher and Brody Robinson will run in the boys 4×400 meter relay on Saturday.

Yoncalla’s Jayden Churchwell will compete in the boys high jump today as well.

The event draws athletes from across the country to compete in Track Town USA.
