It was a good weekend for a number of youth baseball teams in their respective state tournaments being held in Roseburg. 

The 14U Umpqua Valley Babe Ruth all-stars took home the state title at Sunshine Park with a pair of wins over the Three Rivers all-stars out of Grants Pass on Saturday. The Umpqua Valley squad won 11-1 and 14-4 and will advance to the PNW Regional Tournament in Ferndale, Washington later this month. 

The 10U Umpqua Valley Cal Ripken all-stars beat the Willamette Valley Nationals 7-5 for the state championship on Sunday at Gaddis Park. And the 9U Umpqua Valley Cal Ripken all-stars defeated the Willamette Valley Americans 23-3 to win the championship and qualify for regionals.
