SAN FRANCISCO — The Pac-12 Conference announced it is extending its suspension of team activities through May 31, officially cancelling spring football for Oregon and Oregon State. The conference came to the decision after a meeting of its CEOs on Monday.
The suspension keeps Pac-12 teams from holding most in-person activities, such as practices, film sessions, meetings and drills, whether voluntary or not. Teams will still be able to provide in-person on-campus nutrition in some situations.
Sports teams will be allowed to hold virtual group activities, including film studies, for up to four hours a week for all sports except football, which are limited to just two hours per week. The conference is appealing the NCAA to increase the limit for football.
Pac-12 schools will also be allowed to provide non-athletically related support to student-athletes and provide off-campus student-athletes with apparel and personal equipment that is regularly available to student-athletes when they are on campus for conditioning workouts.
