Prep Boys Basketball: North Eugene streaks past Roseburg 101-51
EUGENE — The Roseburg Indians saw an opponent reach triple digits for a second consecutive game as the North Eugene Highlanders blitzed the Tribe for a 101-51 nonconference victory Tuesday at North Eugene High School.
The Highlanders had four players in double figures, led by Jordan Gray with 25 points.
Roseburg (0-12) was led by Harrison Scott with 20 points.
The Indians hung close with No. 2-ranked North Eugene (12-1) through the first six minutes of the game. Scott sank a 3-point shot to get Roseburg within 12-10 with 2:07 left to play in the first quarter.
The Highlanders erupted for a 10-0 run to finish the period and kickstart the runaway victory.
Dallen Morgan drained six 3-pointers for North Eugene, including four in the third quarter, to finish with 20 points. Zack Fisher and Jayden Robinson added 18 points each for the Highlanders.
Gannon Egbert had a career-high 11 points and was the only other player to finish in double figures for Roseburg.
The Roseburg boys will begin Southwest Conference play at 6:45 p.m. Thursday at home against Willamette.
