UCC men stay undefeated, roll over Corban 91-73

WINCHESTER — The Umpqua Community College men’s basketball team improved to 10-0 on the year with a 91-73 win over the Corban University Gold Team on Tuesday.

The Riverhawks stretched a four-point halftime lead to double digits in the second half by out-scoring Corban 51-37 after the break. Umpqua shot well from the floor going 34-for-60 (57%) and did most of its damage close to the basket with 56 points in the paint. 

Jack Anderton had 26 points to lead the way for UCC. Jackson McKee and Caden Hunter both added 19 points for the Riverhawks. 

Lucas Zook had a game-high 29 points for Corban. 

Up next, the Riverhawks will head to Lower Columbia College for an NWAC Crossover starting on Thursday. UCC will square off with Whatcom for a second time this season. The Riverhawks beat the Orcas 87-64 on Dec. 7.
