EUGENE — Sophomore Halle Goodman finished 24th in the OSAA Class 3A/2A/1A girls cross country state championship race to help lead the Glide Wildcats to a seventh place finish as a team on Saturday at Lane Community College.
Goodman finished the 5,000 meters course in 20 minutes, 8.7 seconds. She ran almost a full minute faster than she did as a freshman when she finished 40th in the overall standings.
Ellie Horner (30th), Kylee Enos (61st), Brynna Hurt (62nd), Cheyenne Beam (64th), Baylee Atkin (97th) and Aubrey Groth (98th) also competed for the Wildcats.
Douglas senior Hudson Salas (18:00.80) finished 41st in the 3A boys race. Boe McNeely (18:24.77) from Days Creek was 45th in the boys 2A/1A race.
Roseburg’s Rylie McLaughlin (20:27.71) placed 83rd in the 6A girls race, while Ethan Smith (17:01.20) finished 109th in the boy’s competition.
