Legion Baseball: Coleman fans six in Docs’ 6-3 win over Rose City

CLACKAMAS — Roseburg Dr. Stewart’s finished off an undefeated weekend in Clackamas with a 6-3 win over the Rose City Baseball Club on Sunday at Clackamas High School.

Fletcher Coleman pitched four scoreless innings in relief and earned his first win of the summer, while Cal Robbins was 2-for-4 and had two RBIs on a sixth inning single that put the game out of reach.

Roseburg (3-6) rallied from an early 3-0 deficit and tied the game in the fourth inning. Daniel Withers and Tauj Flora had back-to-back doubles, with Flora’s two-bagger driving in Withers to get the Docs on the board.

Danner Wertz singled through the right side of the infield to plate Flora and get Roseburg within a run and the Docs tied the game on a two-out single by Ty Hellenthal.

The game remained tied until the sixth inning when a sacrifice fly by Logan Anderson put the Docs ahead 4-3. Robbins drilled a two-out line drive back up the middle to add a pair of insurance runs.

Coleman finished off the game with three strikeouts in the seventh inning to secure the win. He tallied six punchouts total with one walk and only two hits allowed.

Withers had a pair of doubles and was 2-for-3 for the Docs. Flora was 2-for-2 with an RBI and a walk.

Up next, Roseburg will visit the Eugene Challengers for an Area 4 league doubleheader at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
