Prep Baseball: Blue All-Stars take 3A/2A/1A series, Camp named Team Gold Most Outstanding Player

The top graduating baseball talent from Oregon’s small-school classifications were in Roseburg for the 3A/2A/1A All-Star Series on Saturday and Sunday at Bill Gray Legion Stadium at Champion Car Wash Field.

The Blue All-Stars took two of the three games to claim the series, winning 6-4 in the first game of a doubleheader on Saturday and then earning a 10-7 victory in Sunday’s rubber match.

The Gold All-Stars claimed an 11-10 win in the nightcap of Saturday’s doubleheader.

A quartet of Douglas County seniors played for the Gold All-Stars. South Umpqua’s Drew Camp was named the Team Gold Most Outstanding Player. He was 2-for-4 in the series with a triple and two runs scored. He also did not allow a run or a hit over 3 1/3 scoreless innings in the first game. Camp struck out four and walked one.

Umpqua Valley Christian graduates Ty Hellenthal and Logan Anderson also pitched in the series opener. Hellenthal started and tossed 2 2/3 innings, allowing one run on three hits with two walks and two strikeouts. Anderson closed the game with one run allowed on one hit over one inning of work.

Hellenthal was 1-for-6 on the weekend with two RBIs and three runs scored. Anderson had two hits, including a triple, in six at-bats with two RBIs and three runs scored.

Sutherlin’s Tauj Flora was 2-for-5 with a double and five RBIs.

Kennedy’s Kody Graves and Rylee Walker led the Blue All-Stars. Graves was 5-for-8 at the plate during the series with an RBI and four runs. Walker drove in three runs on three hits.
