Roseburg boys lacrosse dumps Century 13-6 in Cascade Cup opener

The Roseburg Indians boys lacrosse team is back in the second round of the Cascade Cup playoff bracket after a 13-6 win over the Century Jaguars Thursday at Finlay Field.

Gavin Michael led the Tribe with three goals and two assists. James Allen, Jaden Kemmerle, Zeke Lander and Jacob Michael all added two goals for Roseburg (8-8).

The Indians pulled ahead 7-3 in the first half and started to put the game away in the third period when they outscored Century (4-14) 3-0.

In net, Andy McCurdy (9) and Kyle Boswell (3) combined for 12 saves. The Indians were 13-for-20 on faceoffs, led by Dominic Williams who was 6-for-6.

No. 7 seed Roseburg advances to face No. 2 seed Forest Grove in the Cascade Cup quarterfinals at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Forest Grove High School. The Vikings stretched their win streak to four games with a 23-7 win over West Albany 23-7 in the first round on Thursday.
