Roseburg track & field falls short against Grants Pass
The Roseburg High School track and field team was out-scored by Grants Pass in a Southwest Conference dual meet at Finlay Field on Wednesday. The Cavemen won the boys meet 82-63, while the score of the girls’ meet was 104-41 in favor of G.P.
Roseburg’s Joseph Latham highlighted the event for the RHS boys. The junior claimed individual victories in the 400 meter race and the pole vault.
The Roseburg boys also won both of the relay races. The 4×100 meter team of David Schmid, McLane Stedman, Caden Moon and Adam Lookabaugh ran the even in 43.86 seconds. The 4×400 meter team with Schmid, Moon, Latham and Stedman completed the race in 3:28.12.
Carson Yraguen was first in the boys 300 meter hurdles. Isaiah Hutchins won the 800 meters and Cody Davis took first in the long jump.
The Roseburg girls saw Macy Kurtz finish first in the 800 meters. Alexa Bachmeier was at the front of the pack in the 100 meter hurdles. Leighton Osborn won the long jump and Bridget Brooksby was first in the triple jump.
Roseburg track and field will compete against Sheldon in a conference meet on Wednesday in Eugene.
