Silvestri leads Roseburg golfers at Eugene Country Club Invitational
EUGENE — Freshman Lana Silvestri shot 3-under par to lead the Roseburg girls golf team to a fourth place finish at the Eugene Country Club Invitational on Monday.
Silvestri finished with a score of 69 on the par 72 course and was two strokes ahead of North Eugene’s Francesca Tomp for the individual title. This was Silvestri’s second individual title and first round under par in a tourney this season.
The freshman had five birdies for the round. She helped Roseburg card a total score of 398. Sheldon took the team title with a score of 355.
Apollonia Heap and Raeleigh Traviss finished tied for 21st with scores of 108. Alexis Williams was 28th with a score of 113.
The Roseburg boys were ninth out of 15 teams in the boys standings. The Indians had a total of 352. Bandon took the team title with a score of 296.
Senior Zach Williams had Roseburg’s top score (80) and finished 17th in the individual standings. Williams had five bogeys on the front nine and three on the back half.
The Roseburg boys are back on the course on Monday for the Marshfield Invitational at the Running Y Ranch Resort in Klamath Falls.
The Roseburg girls continue the season on Tuesday at the Tokatee Girls Invitational from Tokatee Golf Course in McKenzie Bridge.
