Roseburg swimmers qualify for state championship meet

MEDFORD — The Roseburg High School swim team qualified for the state meet in 10 different events with a strong performance at the Southwest Conference championships at the Rogue X Recreation Center.

Senior Ada Creighton qualified for the 200 yard individual medley and the 100 yard backstroke and freshman Bella Layna will swim in the 500 freestyle. The Roseburg girls relay teams also qualified for state in the 200 medley and 200 freestyle.

The Roseburg boys will also swim in the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays. Junior Jonathan Hlavinka qualified for the 100 free and 100 backstroke. Sophomore Brayden Powell will swim in the 50 free at state.

The state swim meet will be held Friday and Saturday at the Tualatin Hills Aquatic Center.
