Roseburg, Glide cheerleaders bring home trophies from state championships
OREGON CITY — Champions were crowned at the state cheerleading competition over the weekend at Oregon City High School.
The Roseburg cheer squad finished second in the Class 6A small traditional division. The Indians scored 99.40 points to fall in behind first place Newberg, which won the championship with a score of 103.90. Roseburg had a very clean routine and only took a 0.5 penalty deduction.
There were 11 teams entered into the 6A small traditional division. The runner-up finish is the best for an all-girl squad in the cheerleading program’s history at RHS.
The Glide cheer squad executed its routine to perfection and scored 86.80 for a third place finish in the 3A/2A/1A traditional division.
