UCC women stay undefeated, men fall to Clackamas

WINCHESTER — The No. 2 Umpqua women’s basketball team improved to 15-0 on the year with a dominating 93-57 victory over Clackamas on Saturday.
The Riverhawks shot nearly 60% from the floor and led by as much as 46 points in the contest.
Brooklyn Fely stuffed the stat sheet with 27 points, 14 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocked shots. Douglas High School graduate Male’ata Polamalu added 21 points for the Riverhawks.
The No. 9 Umpqua men followed with a 70-61 loss to the Cougars on Saturday. The loss was the first in league play for the Riverhawks.
Clackamas shot almost 60% from the floor in the second half and made seven 3-pointers as the Cougars pulled ahead for the win.
Mikey Lloyd led the ‘Hawks with a game-high 21 points and had 9 rebounds. Bentley Whitear added 18 points for UCC.
Up next, the Umpqua men and women will visit Southwestern Oregon for a league matchup on Wednesday.
