ROSEBURG – The Roseburg track and field teams swept a home Southwest Conference dual with Willamette on Wednesday. The boys claimed a 92-52 victory over the Wolverines, while the girls won 75-64.
The RHS boys won 10 events against Willamette. The Indians excelled in the field events, taking first, second, and third in both the shot put and the javelin.
Dalton Rasmussen highlighted Roseburg’s victory with a PR toss to win the javelin. The senior unleashed the spear for a throw of 191-11. That topped his previous best by over seven feet. He’s only the third high school thrower in Oregon to reach the 190-foot mark or better this season.
The Roseburg girls won nine events against the Wolverines. Highlighting the top performances were Christan Ivy, who set a PR time (1:09.43) in the 400-meters to place first, and Jessica Peterson, who won the discus with a PR throw of 116-9.
The Roseburg teams will next compete at the 69th annual Grants Pass Rotary Invitational on Saturday.
