DAYS CREEK – The Days Creek boys are heading to the second round of the 1A state playoffs after a huge second half lifted the Wolves to a 46-22 victory over Siletz Valley Wednesday night.

Days Creek outscored the Warriors 29-6 in the second half and held Siletz Valley scoreless in the fourth quarter. The second half swoon broke open a game that was separated by just one-point at halftime.

Josh Whetzel led Days Creek with 12 points. The Wolves now move on to the second round on Saturday, where they will face Nixyaawii. If Days Creek can pull off the road win, they’ll head to the state tournament to play for a trophy at Baker High School.
