SISTERS — The Sutherlin girls were without sophomore point guard Kiersten Haines Friday night, but they got balanced scoring to help put away the Sisters Outlaws 46-28 on Friday night.

The Bulldogs (11-13, 6-4 Sky-Em) jumped out to a 16-6 lead after a quarter and the Outlaws never got any closer. Senior Kiersten Porter, who had been struggling with an ankle injury, had a big game with 15 points, including two 3-pointers. Freshman Savannah McHugill had 12 and another freshman, Paige Bailey, added 11.

The only senior on the Sisters’ roster, Rylee Weber, led the Outlaws (5-18, 2-8 Sky-Em) with nine points.

Now it’s wait and see time for the Bulldogs, who finished the regular season in third place. Sutherlin will likely travel for a play-in round game once the rankings freeze on Tuesday.
