SISTERS — Sutherllin trailed most of the game Friday night at Sisters, but finally got the lead midway through the fourth quarter only to surrender the edge to the Outlaws in a 48-42 loss. The victory gives Sisters the Sky-Em League crown and secures the Outlaws the number one seed in the playoffs. Sutherlin dropped to second place with the loss.

The Outlaws (16-8, 9-1 Sky-Em) led by nine after a quarter, but the Bulldogs pulled to within one just before halftime at 20-19. Junior wing Noah Richards gave the Outlaws an eight-point lead when he hit a three-pointer with just a second left in the third period, but Riley Westbrooks got off a shot just across mid-court that banked in, and they were down by just five after three quarters.

Sutherlin (16-8, 8-2 Sky-Em) got the lead twice in the fourth period, but Sisters always had an answer and a three-point play by Richards with nine seconds left ended any hopes for the Bulldogs.

Richards finished with 12 points, 6-foot-9 senior Ty Horner added 14 to lead the Outlaws, and 6-foot-4 junior Zach Anderson had 13.

Sophomore Mason Gill was the only Bulldog in double figures with 17 points. Brandon Carr added nine.

Sutherlin will now wait for the rankings to freeze on Tuesday to find out what the post season will hold. The Bulldogs will likely host a play-in game before Saturday, Feb. 24.
